Cutler and Gross is proud to debut a new eyewear collection, designed in close collaboration with Debbie Harry. A celebration of singular vision and uncompromising artistry, the collection fuses her inimitable attitude with Cutler and Gross’s exceptional standards of craftsmanship.
“Who am I? Someone fortunate and hardworking, with a natural sense of timing and a voice I’m proud of.”
— Debbie Harry, punk pioneer and Blondie frontwoman.

For over five decades, Debbie Harry has shaped the visual and sonic language of music, emerging as a seminal figure across New York's underground scenes. With a cultural footprint that spans generations—from the gritty and hallowed CBGB nightclub to the global charts and mainstream as both a solo artist and frontwoman of Blondie—she remains an enduring muse and symbol of self-expression. Neither retrospective nor nostalgic, this collaboration captures her in constant evolution.
Off The Record
Shot candidly between moments in a Chelsea studio in New York, Cutler and Gross sat down with Debbie to discuss her life, off the record, and with images that capture what the stage rarely surrenders: as she has always been, unapologetically herself.
“Have I ever softened myself to survive? Well, I imagine I have but I think ‘softened’ means compromise, and compromise is definitely a key to survival.”
The Cutler and Gross X Debbie Harry Maria 003 Cat Eye Sunglass.
With platinum albums on par with her hair colour, Debbie Harry has always been perceived by her grit and defiance, instantly recognised by this Blondie ‘persona’ she built over the years.
When you separate the persona and catalyst you see on stage, she begins to show her true identity. Soft spoken, shy and oftentimes guarded, she’s endured adversity and challenges in her career and questioned the status quo in the gutter years of 70s and 80s New York. When designing this collection with Cutler and Gross, Debbie showed us a vulnerability and more gentle demeanour.
Shades of Difference
Inspired by a rarely seen, romantic spirit, the highly exclusive collection, Shades of Difference, embodies a softer side in three personally curated sunglass styles. Sculptural and bold, each silhouette explores the tension between refinement and elegance, where Cutler and Gross’s craftsmanship meets Debbie Harry’s quietly intimate edge.

She personally named each of the styles, giving them feminine names that draw from characters in film, novels and poetry and explore ideas that evoke a more amiable mood.
The Akira 001 is unapologetic, with an oversized butterfly shaped frame and external milling and bevelling for 3D definition. A sharp, rectangular cat-eye profile characterises the Valentina 002, creating a contrast to the smooth gradient lenses. Aptly named, the Maria 003 goes against the grain, with a retro-inspired cat eye and elegant curved lenses.
“Everyone sees things and feels things their own way. It’s inevitable that you’re going to be misunderstood.”

Handcrafted in Italy from the finest acetate, each style is presented in deep Black and rich Havana brown and stamped with a gold 3D DH logo with textured parallel lines as a final personal touch.
This collaboration celebrates the dual artistry of Cutler and Gross and Debbie Harry, designed with a forward-looking vision and created for those as daring as the cultural forces who inspire them.
