The collection comprises five sunglass styles, and five limited-edition variations that demonstrate both the brand's unparalleled history, and the ingrained devotion for quality that lies at our core.
From top to bottom, the Marisol 0005, Léman 0001, Cloudbreak 0004, and the Biarritz 0003 styles.
A Horological History
Founded in 1884, Breitling is a leading Swiss watchmaker known for presenting innovative and cutting-edge timepieces. Their history includes the invention of the modern chronograph and pioneering the navigational tool watch. Today they are still breaking new ground as an inclusive and sustainable luxury brand, centring their collections around air, land, and sea pursuits— all captured in an unmistakable modern-retro style. The collaboration marks a pivotal point for both Breitling and Cutler and Gross, translating heritage and craft into sunglasses to cherish for years to come.
The inner workings of a Breitling Superocean Heritage timepiece.
“This collaboration is about blending heritage with modern craftsmanship. The result is a collection that feels timeless and fresh at the same time."
Jack Dooley, Cutler and Gross CEO
Time-Tested Expertise
The collection features five sunglass styles, the 0001 Lèman, 0002 Chrono, 0003 Biarritz, 0004 Cloudbreak and the 0005 Marisol. Each design comes presented in two variations, crafted from either eco-conscious cellulose acetate or titanium, and a second limited-edition iteration crafted from Red Gold, coming soon. This exclusive style comes fit with ZEISS LightPro lens technology to provide excellent digital device-readability and minimise glare.
From left to right, the Léman 0001 and the Cloudbreak 0004 styles.
Drawing from the watch strap of the original Superocean Heritage, Breitling’s Milanese metalwork is emulated as carefully curated temple pins, bridges and core wire apparent throughout each frame. Transposing Cutler and Gross’s usual esteemed eyewear iconography into a new story of time.
Luminous lacquer-filled arrowhead markers can be found along the temple tip—a motif found as the hour and minute hands on the dial of the signature diving watch. Lenses are inscribed with a miniature etched 'script-B' logo, inspired by grandson of the founder, Willy Breitling’s mid-20th century branding and makes for a final stamp of approval.
