Eyewear In Motion
Established in London in 2009 by friends Lev Tanju and Gareth Skewis, Palace quickly gained a cult following, marking them as a leading name in global streetwear today. The creative duo found a lack of British brands that represented the skate culture beating in the heart of London’s South Bank and looked to create their own. Founded on nonchalant graphics and branded T-shirts designed with skateboarders in mind, they have since evolved to collaborate with renowned names in luxury fashion, lifestyle and even racing.
Palace Cutler and Gross signals the first dedicated eyewear drop for the brand with the release of three sunglass styles: Mercury, Victory and Jupiter, all available in highly limited numbers.
Riffing on the idea of skateboards in motion, the collection draws inspiration from Mercury, the Roman God of Speed. The theme is translated into intricate metalwork found on each sunglass style, reshaping both brand’s signature emblems.
The new Wing motif is a dynamic take on our Oyster pin – offering a more fluid version of the emblem, curving the edges upwards to create the eponymous winged shape. Nodding to the overarching theme, the instantly recognisable Tri-Ferg and ancient coin logos from Palace are presented here in gilded gold, while core wire features mosaic detailing as an ode to Roman mythology.

"Collaborating with Palace gave us freedom to push Cutler and Gross outside of our usual design territory. We experimented with the details, giving our heritage Oyster Pin a playful transformation into the new Wing motif, while their signature Tri-Ferg logo has been hand crafted from 18K Gold."
Alessandro Marcer, Cutler and Gross Creative Director
Each style from the collection offers a glimpse into both brand’s arsenal. Crafted with a 9mm frame, the Mercury Square Sunglass features interior and exterior milling and statement gilded metalwork on par with the theme. The Victory Round Sunglass presents a flat-top alternative, detailed with Palace logos and Solid Blue Lenses for a contrasting finish. Each style is limited to 70 frames in both Black and tortoiseshell Havana.
The hero piece is the Limited-Edition Jupiter sunglass in Black, which bridges streetwear codes and heritage techniques. The wrap design is detailed with the Wing motif and signature Tri-Ferg, crafted from solid 18K Gold metalwork. A highly exclusive production of 15 frames have been created.
