Social Media and Marketing Executive (London, UK)

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

A brand built on friendship and rooted in craft, Cutler and Gross was established by opticians Mr Cutler and Mr Gross in 1969. They had a vision: to pioneer a new standard of eyewear. Each frame was made by hand in the workshop above the Knightsbridge store in London.


Over 55 years on and this philosophy of craftsmanship remains unchanged. Taking place in Italy and Japan, the frames are handcrafted by a team of artisans who have spent decades honing their skills.

Overview:

The Social Media and Marketing Executive will be responsible for helping executive marketing initiatives, managing social media presence and growth, and supporting partnerships. This hands on role requires excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and a strong creative eye with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive organic and paid social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Own and manage the daily social posting schedule, ensuring content is timely, on-brand, and aligned with product launches, campaigns, events, and key brand messaging.
  • Maintain and update the monthly content calendar, coordinating across marketing, PR, and ecommerce.
  • Work with the team to create and curate high-quality, platform-optimised visual content - including ecomm product photography, lifestyle imagery, Reels, motion graphics, and branded assets.
  • Work with the Brand Copy Editor to write engaging, design led captions and copy.
  • Coordinate product shoots with the Marketing Manger and oversee final edits and post-production for comms channels.
  • Work with the external performance marketing teams to develop and coordinate paid social campaigns, including targeting, creative testing, and optimisation.
  • Provide or adapt creative assets for performance-driven formats (e.g. Stories, video ads, carousels).
  • Monitor paid performance with the Ecomm and Marketing Manager and report on KPIs like CTR, conversions, and ROAS.
  • Actively manage community interactions - responding to comments, DMs, tags, and mentions in a timely and brand-aligned voice, alongside the Brand Copy Editor.
  • Build relationships with followers, creators, influencers, and brand advocates alongside PR manager and supporting on press request send outs where required.
  • Identify and engage with UGC and relevant brand-aligned communities.
  • Track performance of both organic and paid content, using insights to continuously optimise posting strategy, content types, and engagement tactics.
  • Deliver weekly insights and monthly reports with key metrics, highlights, and recommendations and actionable ideas.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of social media experience, preferably in fashion, beauty, or luxury lifestyle industries.
  • Proven ability to grow and engage audiences across social channels including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Strong portfolio showing original social content, including visuals and copy.
  • Skilled in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva etc
  • Experience with Meta Ads Manager, and social analytics platforms (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout) preferable
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy social calendar with precision and changing product dates.
  • Sophisticated aesthetic and understanding of luxury brand tone, voice, and audience.

The Role:

Cutler and Gross are seeking enthusiastic Licensed Opticians to be an integral part of our growing team.

To be successful in this role, you will be a recently qualified dispensing optician, be a passionate and driven professional, eager to work with eyewear of the highest quality, and with a focus on delivering a superb customer experience.

Description of Duties:

  • Supply, fit and adjust glasses to a high standard with imagination and flare.
  • Use of equipment to take frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning.
  • To interpret the prescription and to develop a dispense plan, making recommendations on lens type and frame compatibility to clients based on their visual needs and lifestyle.
  • Assist with maintaining client electronic records, including email addresses and contact telephone numbers.
  • Arrange client appointments using the client management system tools and web booking portal and complete triage protocols as required.
  • To record the results of each client’s, dispense on the system and initiate lens and frame orders electronically to the supplier.
  • Use of a frame tracer to support the ordering of lenses, and fit lenses to frames in store.
  • Advise clients when adjustments or repairs to spectacles are needed.
  • Check lenses on delivery to ensure that they meet the required specification.
  • Assist with all stock deliveries to store, booking into system and attaching price tags where required.
  • Arrange, maintain, and clean shop display with the team in line with visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings with management.
  • Assist with regular stocktakes.
  • To consistently deliver high quality dispensing and respond to feedback in a positive and constructive way.
  • Pro-actively support the running of the practice to operate to its full potential.
  • Follow all PPE, Health and Safety and cleanliness guidelines in the in the workplace for clients and staff.
  • Additional administrative tasks as required.

Skills Required:

  • At least 3 to 5 years as a New York State Licensed Optician.
  • Have exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good IT literacy - Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Outlook and aptitude to learn new software.
  • Have a proven track record in achieving sales targets and building customer relationships.
  • A flexible and ‘can do’ working style with a willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work as part of a team, and on own initiative.
  • You will need empathy and creativity alongside your theoretical knowledge.
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise own workload.
  • Be immaculately presented and represent the company ethos.
