The Haçienda is acknowledged as reinventing and reinvigorating the nightclub genre, the former boat showroom in Manchester’s city centre was open from 1982 up until its closure in 1997 and was at the forefront of music and youth culture at its peak. For some, it is still the spiritual home of acid house.
The club was instrumental in launching the careers of international acts such The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Pet Shop Boys and really put global DJs like Sasha, Graeme Park, and The Chemical Brothers on the map.
