Cutler and Gross is proud to have collaborated with luxury luggage brand Globe-Trotter on a capsule of exclusive collector’s cases and leather slipcases.
A year in the making, the partnership was born from a shared and unwavering devotion to craftsmanship. The two British brands drew upon their rich histories to create an unrivalled result.

An Iconic Legacy
From Winston Churchill to Queen Elizabeth II and Daniel Craig, Globe-Trotter cases have been the companion of choice for leaders and luminaries since 1897. The brand quickly established a reputation for its lightweight yet highly durable luggage, a feat epitomised by Sir Edmund Hillary summitting Mount Everest in 1953 with his Globe-Trotter case.
The longevity of the brand’s luggage is rooted in the use of vulcanised fibreboard, which they patented back in 1901. 14 layers of recycled paper are bonded with zinc to create a unique material that’s tougher than leather and lighter than aluminium. To illustrate the cases’ unmatched endurance, in 1912 a one-tonne elephant was persuaded to stand on a Globe-Trotter cabin trunk, which withstood the weight.
Every piece of Globe-Trotter luggage, from the 19th century to now, is constructed from vulcanised fibreboard. And this includes the new Cutler and Gross hardshell collector’s case.
“When creating our collector’s case,
we had one name on our wishlist: Globe-Trotter.
True luxury products have tactile natures,
like the feel of a beautiful leather sofa
or the weight of an immaculate Swiss watch,
and these cases have that same quality.”

The Heritage of Craft
We worked closely with the Globe-Trotter artisans to construct an exquisite case to house a set of Cutler and Gross glasses. The compact design is rendered in five elegant colourways and fastens with a polished lock and key.
Taking place in the Globe-Trotter factory in Hertfordshire, England, the cases are handcrafted with a padded leather lining that can compactly store four frames. Each case is studded with traditional metal rivets and fitted with a leather handle, while a dual-branded logo patch adds further prestige. Moulded on a Victorian press machine over the course of five days, Globe-Trotter’s signature leather corners complete the design.
Handcrafted to a highly limited number in Black, Knightsbridge Green, Burnt Orange, Oxblood, and Chocolate Brown.
