With a delicate and ethereal design aesthetic, Alberta Ferretti is known for her meticulous detailing such as fine lace, encrusted Swarovski crystal and hand-beaded draping chiffon. It’s a testament to her love of elegant shapes and effortlessly draped dresses that work harmoniously with a woman’s figure that Ferretti has decided to produce a new eyewear collection to be created by Cutler and Gross. The collection, comprised seven sunglass models, made its debut on the Ferretti Autumn/Winter 2012 runway at Milan Fashion Week.

“Cutler and Gross is a worldwide leader in the luxury eyewear field thanks to its expression of tradition and quality. They will be able to translate in the best way the elegant and sensual style that has always characterised the world of Alberta Ferretti,” said Ferretti. The eyewear collection was inspired by the women who wear Ferretti’s gowns, a woman who chooses dresses that flatter her individual shape.

Ferretti’s scooping necklines were translated into the sweeping curved temples and browlines of the collaborative frames, while the linear shapes of the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2012 ready-to-wear collection inspired the panelling, lasering techniques and textured finish. Each model was designed to achieve the classicism of a Ferretti gown – timeless and effortlessly enchanting.
